Information We Process

We process account details (email address, display name and user ID), profile details (photo, biography, interests and location), user content (events, groups, posts, comments, photos and private messages), registrations, reports and support requests, product interactions such as login, registration, bookmark and reminder state, and security or diagnostic data needed to operate the service. For notifications we process the APNs device token and a randomly generated installation ID. We do not use an advertising identifier and do not track users across apps or websites.

Purposes and Permissions

We use information to create and secure accounts, show relevant local events, complete registrations, deliver notifications, provide communities and messaging, apply user preferences, investigate reports, prevent fraud, provide support, perform our contract, and meet legal obligations. Location is requested only when nearby discovery, place selection, or navigation needs it. Photos are uploaded only after the user actively selects them. Relevant permissions may be declined or changed in system settings.

Sharing and Service Providers

Necessary information may be processed by contracted cloud hosting, storage, map, push-notification and support providers subject to appropriate safeguards. Necessary registration details may be shared with the organizer of an event. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and Security

We use transport encryption, access controls, least-privilege practices and audit logging. Data is retained only while needed to provide the service or meet a legal obligation. After account deletion, profile data, messages, registrations, bookmarks, reviews, posts, comments, events, groups, push-device records and uploaded images are deleted. We retain only a non-identifying account tombstone so old login credentials remain invalid. Any information that law requires us to retain is isolated with restricted access and deleted when that period ends.

Your Choices and Account Deletion

You can update your profile and privacy settings, report content, block users, and permanently delete your account and all associated user content from Account & Security in the app. You may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent by emailing contact@meetokay.com.

Children and International Processing

MeetOkay is not directed to children under 13. Guardians who believe a child supplied personal information may contact us for deletion. Where information is processed across borders, we use safeguards recognized by applicable law.

Material changes will be announced in the app or on this website and, where required, we will ask for renewed consent.
